Oops I did it Again!

Max Martin very helpfully has written a sound track for my life. He has even had Britney Spears performing it for me. He probably knows I am not known for my singing talents.

“What did you do again Kay?” I can hear you sighing from here and I can see you shaking your head.

I did too much. I am definitely raging against something today even if I wasn’t yesterday. I am now suffering with tiredness and pain this morning. The question I have to ask is, was it worth it? Answer, no, I don’t think it was. Hindsight eh! It is a wonderful thing. In my defence y’honour, The Raynor Winn Lunch should have been last October and the Witches Talk was only on yesterday so I had no choice other than to cancel one of them. The car thing, well perhaps I could have planned that a little better.

Here you go then, a bit of a review:

  • The car was delivered to ‘We Buy Any Car’ and we got a decent price for it. It was a quick and simple process and I was happy to get it done. Now looking forward to welcoming The Fle or even Mrs Fle (Number Plate MR51 FLE). My niece pointed this out and now I can’t not see it.
  • Due to me being vehicle-less by late morning, I was granted permission to use the Truck. It soooo easy to park in a packed car park – not. I managed it though after a 10 point turn, and was in time for my over cooked lasagne lunch. To be fair, the people that had prepared the food did a sterling job and served us all efficiently. Big thumbs up to the homemade coleslaw – I love a homemade coleslaw. The talk by Raynor Winn was ‘nice’ but I didn’t get anything new from it that I hadn’t got from the books. She had also got a stinking cold and I ended up feeling sorry for her having to stand up in front of a hundred people when I am sure all she wanted to do is curl up in bed.
  • Next stop was the gym lounge at the club in Nottingham. I had a bit of admin to do (like pay for FLE) but I admit, I did grab a little time for my Strike novel. So far, it is soooo good. I also ate more pasta before I started a 16 hour fast at 17.30. Felt stodged by now.
  • Finally, me and The Truck headed to the Park and Ride so that I could get the Tram into Nottingham City Centre (ish). The walk from the tram stop to the Theatre – The Squire Performing Arts Centre – was longer than it had looked on the map (yes I do plan these things in advance). I was hobbling and exhausted by the time I got there. Still, I had time to sit for a couple of hours and recover. I struggled with overwhelming tiredness in the first half of ‘The History and Endurance of Witchcraft’ delivered by Dr Julia Philips. It wasn’t her fault, the day (and possibly the carbs) had got hold of me. Having said that, although the talk wasn’t bad, it didn’t give me enough new stuff to have been worth it – energy wise.

The real lesson from today was….. do only one thing in a day unless you KNOW it is going to be worth it. At least for now.
