Oh my goodness, what a storyteller! Yes Kate Mosse, you have the talent both with words on the page and in person with an audience. I don’t have many role models but you are definitely someone on my list. I went with my sister in law to see Kate deliver her story of how Labyrinth – her first novel – came about and was ultimately written. It was so well delivered, I was hooked for the whole show. The platform trainers though…..not so sure about those. I was terrified the beloved Kate was going to fall off them. She looked a bit like one of those big foot teddy bears.
I have another appointment with Dr Doom today so expect a black cloud hovering over tomorrow’s Diary.
However, as an antidote to Dr Depression Creator, I am heading straight of to the pool. Surgery to sunshine – that’s the real medicine. What could be better? I am also attending a virtual summit on Writing and AI later. I know this doesn’t seem like fun for many of you but I am excited (you know like the American Influencers of just about everything) to be learning. When I say attending, I will be Zooming in from The Duke so that I can be ready to go straight into the Pub Quiz – not such a virtual experience.
I also did some research for an article I am going to write about a Literary Tour of Derbyshire yesterday. I discovered a lovely bookshop and cafe near Buxton. I will report further in A Class Adventures (when I eventually get two minutes to sit down and write it).
I have purposefully not listened to the news this morning. I know, I know, this means there is no comment about War and Peace from me. Sorry. I am sure one of the ‘Players’ in the Game of World Domination will have done something horrifying, but I am taking a day off from letting my jaw being dropped all day from what they have done in the past 24 hours.
