Buzzing, Woowoo and Dr Doom

Good morning and what a fine one it is here in Ugly Derbyshire, home of this Nobody. We have had a series of lovely mornings, lovely days. What a joy. I even mowed the lawn yesterday. I am only able to use the light weight mower so I am not sure I did the best job, but surely when you start cutting grass Spring is with us?

I also observed that the sky last night was absolutely stunning. It was so clear, so fresh. Dad was definitely flying around those stars. I know he is around because of what is flying around my head at the moment. Yeah….I know, this sounds a bit Woowoo.

They say don’t talk about religion or politics so I won’t, much. I am not a big fan of the organised (I use the term loosely) religions but I do believe that we humans leave some kind of energy or imprint. Dad loved stuff about the stars and was always interested in where science and technology was taking us. He said he wanted to be shot into space when he died. Sorry Dad, the budget didn’t stretch to that, but I like to think he is up there having fun anyhow. I can also feel his influence pushing me in a certain direction with what is the yet unpublished Mandrake Agency series.

You heard it here first, the initial book in the series, working title ‘The Mandrake Murders’ (was ‘A Sauce of Murder’ for any of the beta readers out there) will be out by June and I am planning for the second one, working title ‘Witch will be Next’ to be out in the world by late September/ early October.

I have another busy week ahead which I am really looking forward to. Well apart from another run in with Dr Doom (Thursday). I am actually buzzing but also terrified I won’t get everything done. I start a course at NTU (Nottingham Trent University) this evening, I am going to see Kate Mosse to further inspire me about her fabulous book Labyrinth on Wednesday, I have meetings about writing books, a presentation to prepare and some business planning to do. It will be topped off by a meal on Saturday to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Oh, and did I mention I am very excited to be back in my Mandrake world – writing stuff.

Yes, I am a little mad and do you know what? I don’t care. Dr Doom, you will not knock me off my perch again…..I am ready for you! I may have something which is most definitely physically disabling and that will probably only become worse but it ain’t going to stop me living my life to the full.
