Goldfinger Lives!

I am beginning to wonder if we are living in a James Bond film? I am convinced ‘y’man in the US has modelled himself on Auric Goldfinger. Early this morning, I came across him briefing the press about how the democratically elected President of Ukraine wasn’t democratically elected and he should just disappear. This was as the Big D set off on a trip to…..yes, Fort Knox where he was going to check if the gold was still there. Has anyone checked if the army is awake or a man with metal teeth is attached to the steel bars protecting the precious metal? Just saying.

Meanwhile, back in Blighty, our ‘Spectre’ representative, Rachel the Accountant, has already done a job on the Bank of You and Me. She and her fellow members of the local board of Spectre want us all to not save in nice safe ISA’s but to put it into stocks and shares. This is to promote growth, apparently. Additionally in today’s news, there is a report telling us that yet another company is thinking of pulling out of the London Stock Market because it is so ‘sluggish’, I am not convinced that we are being guided particularly well. Thoughts anyone?

Still, we are all waiting in anticipation for our beloved Prime Minister, Sir Kier, to channel Hugh Grant (Love Actually) when he meets good old Donald next week. Any chance we could actually send Hugh instead? He could wear that Oompa Loompa suit from a more recent film. I am sure this would keep DT a little calmer as he would think he was with one of his own people.

More importantly, I am afraid to report, I had some pool rage yesterday. Multiple people chose to enter the pool down the ladder where I was swimming. There are at least three other entry points, why the one near me. AND….one woman took over my swimming lane! Would she get on to a treadmill I was using….probably. Give me strength.

Today, well I am meeting a first cousin for the first time. I never thought I would discover such a close relative this late in life. Exciting eh?
