When I was younger, I always swore I should have been born in the Caribbean and as I head towards older age, I know it. I was not really destined for the cold dampness of middle England in February. It sucks the lifeblood out of me more than a certain elderly relative and, I can assure you, that is going some! Is it unreasonable to be planning a six weeks or so sojourn to the south of Spain for next January/ February? No, I idid’t think so.
Mind you, things are looking up, I am able to tripe this without using electric lights during the day and it is now after 9.00 in the morning. It is been so grey for so long that I have almost forgotten it can be a little more animated out there in the outside world. The sun, the sun, I see the sun!
I am sitting at my lounge table watching the wildlife attempting to survive. There has been a very grey squirrel balancing on the train track (go on you can see it, the train track not the squirrel, if you squint hard), at least one Blue Tit which I think lives in the hedge and Mrs Blackbird is also about. You can also see the lesser spotted camper, heading off to empty his loo in the second photo. There aren’t many other signs of life on site except the grumpy Border Terrier under the table – please note, the Jack Russell is here somewhere hereabouts but has hidden itself away. Wise dog.
I am currently in the quiet before the storm….of next week. A busy one is ahead. A Motorhome Show at the NEC, meeting a first cousin I didn’t know existed for the first time, meeting a Gin Distiller about a book, a GP’s appointment and the launch of Frozen People by Ellie Griffiths. Appropriate given the start of my ramblings today. Oh, and I have endless forms to complete for some government agency or other.
AhAhhh…..I just spotted a Crow. I think I will watch that for a while whilst I drink tea and repeat ‘pacing, pacing, pacing’ and ‘nature has the answers’. Tomorrow will get here soon enough without me hurrying it along with worry.
